Ogni stagione di spedizioni sul monte Everest porta a Namche circa 50 tonnellate di rifiuti provenienti dal campo base. Una parte dei rifiuti - composta di vecchie tende, corde, bombole e lattine - è stata usata da quindici artisti per realizzare opere d'arte, sculture e quadri per il progetto "Everest 8848 Art project".

Every season of expeditions to Mount Everest leads to Namche about 50 tons of waste from the base camp. Some of the waste - old tents, ropes, bottles and cans - has been used by fifteen artists to create works of art, sculptures and paintings for the "Everest 8848 Art project".
